Terre Madre in Turin September 2018

Slow Food Anglia members were invited to the Terre Madre Salone del Gusto in Turin and we also were able to provide two delegates to this prestigious event held every second year in Italy.
The Terre Madre was held in Turin from the 20th to 24th September and it is believed that over one million and five hundred thousand members, supporters and members of the public attended over the four days.
For us in Slow Food Anglia this was the second time be had been present at the Terre Madre but Slow Food members from the UK have been attending the event for over 14 years. The event gives Slow Food members the chance to network with members from other groups around the globe and also to catch up with the news from friends from these groups.

Slow Food Anglia being part of the larger UK delegation were present at talks on presentations given by members from the UK as well as being able to attend talks given by delegates from across the globe.
We are "twinned" with Slow Food Marche in Italy and Slow Food Sicilia and were able to meet with members from these groups to discuss possible future projects and between us we are planning some joint events to be held in the summer of 2019.
The Terre Madre was an awe inspiring event and a coming together of like minded people and groups to build on the work already done to bring good clean food to the general public.
Slow Food Anglia will now be contacting our members to allow them to take part in the events we are planning with other non UK Slow Food groups over the coming months and in 2019.
