Slow Food Anglia and Sicily Unlimited

The well known Sicily Unlimited Summer Schools which are organised in association with Slow Food Sicilia are being held on the beautiful Island of Sicily in May and September this year.
In May the Salina Summer school will combine talks on films (including Il Postino, made on the Island, Stromboli and Cinema Paradiso), with 'Salina Isola Slow', an annual event organised by Slow Food Sicilia which celebrates Ark of Taste products such as Malvasia wine and also capers in a series of dinners and tastings.

In September, the second Agrigento Summer School will be held near the Valley of the Temples at the Agriturismo Frattoria Mose with presentations from members of Slow Food Sicilia, and with an introduction to the history of Sicily together with visits to the Temples.
Slow Food Anglia signed a joint Protocol with Slow Food Sicilia last year at a specially held event in London and we were then pleased to have a Sicilian presence at our inaugural Slow Food Anglia Festival in Colchester in the east of England last September and we look forward to being involved with many similar festivals and educational projects with the Sicilian group over the coming years.

Sicily Unlimited was founded by the writer and academic Geoff Andrews, author of the book, The Slow Food Story with the purpose of exploring Sicily's rich cultural heritage and to organise sustainable projects in partnership with local people and associations, as an alternative to mass tourism.
Both the May and September courses on Sicily will be taught by Geoff Andrews, but at the May School only he will also be helped by Ally Clow of the Curzon Soho Art House Cinema, London.
The previous courses have proved extremely popular with students enjoying both classroom workshops as well as their visits to the Temples and the Agriturismo Fattoria Mose was much appreciated as being in an excellent position and offering very comfortable accommodation to the guests.
More details about this years courses and prices can be found both on the Salina Summer School pages and on the Agrigento Summer School pages on the Sicily Unlimited website.
