Slow Food Anglia at the Mosciolando in Portonovo, Italy
Slow Food Anglia were guests of Slow Food Marche and Slow Food Ancona and Conero at the annual mussel festival or Mosciolando held in the beautiful Adriatic resort of Portonovo in Italy on Friday 19th June. The Mosciolando festival has been held in Portonovo for ten years and this year nearly one hundred members of Slow Food Ancona and Conero attended along with Ugo Pazzi the President of Slow Food Marche.
Members of Slow Food Anglia were invited earlier this year by Ugo Pazzi from Slow Food Marche and Roberto Rubegni from Slow Food Ancona and Conero to attend this years festival on the Friday evening and also to sign a protocol where both regions will co operate in the future with educatioanl projects, joint visits and tours together with building closer links between convivia in both countries.
The first part of the event was held in the gardens of the beautiful La Torre an historic watch tower overlooking the bay in Portonovo, and mussels were cooked and served to Slow food members before the signing of the protocol and speeches by Ugo from Slow Food Marche and Dermott from Slow Food Anglia.
Slow Food Anglia è stata ospite di Slow Food Marche e Slow Food Ancona e Conero al festival annuale di Mosciolando tenutosi nella suggestiva baia di Portonovo in Italia lo scorso Venerdì 19 Giugno. Il festival di Mosciolando si tiene a Portonovo da dieci anni e quest'anno all'incirca un centinaio di membri della condotta di Ancona si sono dati appuntamento insieme al presidente di Slow Food Marche Ugo Pazzi.
Membri di Slow Food Anglia sono stati invitati quest'anno da Ugo Pazzi di Slow Food Marche e Roberto Rubegni presidente della contotta Slow Food Ancona e Conero a partecipare quest'anno all'evento di venerdì e per l'occasione un protocollo d'intesa è stato firmato tra le due regioni come base per future collaborazioni in campo educativo, turistico e di promozione che verranno costruite tra i due convivia in entrambe i paesi.
La prima parte dell'evento di è tenuto nei giardini de La Torre, costruzione storica che si affaccia sulla baia, e moscioli sono stati cucinati e serviti al momento per i membri di Slow Food prima della firma del protocollo e del discorso di presentazione tenuto da Ugo per Slow Food Marche e Dermott per Slow Food Anglia.
After the first part of the evening at La Torre some of the group members then made their way to the beach at Portonovo bay where they met more of the Slow Food Ancona and Conero members, then they all had drinks before they went into the local restaurant chosen to host this years gathering.
There was a five course meal at the restaurant for those present consists of dishes of mussels prepared and served in different ways, including pasta with mussels and mussels with breadcrumbs, all these various dishes were part of a celebration of the local mussel fishing community and tradition of the Portonovo area of the Marche region.
Toward the end of the evening, Ugo, Dermott and Roberto all made speeches to the guests explaining the ways in which the three Slow Food groups would work together in the future to promote their different regions of Italy and England and also how they will organise and promote educational projects, gastronomic tours and workshops over the coming years. La seconda parte dell'evento ha visto alcuni membri spostarsi dalla Torre alla spiaggia di portonovo dove, assieme con un altro gruppo di membri presenti sul luogo, si è tenuto un aperitivo di ben venuto e la successiva cena al ristorante dello stabilimento Marcello. La cena è stata come da tradizione interamente a base di moscioli con piatti tipici della tradizione come gli spaghetti e i moscioli con le molliche di pane. Il tutto come parte delle celebrazioni della locale comunità di pescatori nella piena tradizione della baia di Portonovo.
Verso la fine della serata Ugo, Dermott e Roberto hanno a turno illustrato agli ospiti presenti come questi tre gruppi collaboreranno insieme in futuro per promuovere le loro regioni incentrandosi su comuni progetti educativi, enogastronomici e turistici. Flickr Pagine
