Slow Food Anglia and Slow Food Marche event in Italy
Slow Food Anglia together with Slow Food Norwich are extremely pleased to have been invited to take part in a very special event being held in the Marche region of Italy this June, the event being part of the wider Slow Food International involvement in EXPO 2015 that is being held in Milan this year.
The Mosciolando event is held each year in the Adriatic resort of Portonovo on the east coast of Italy, it is a Festival in celebration of the local mussels to be found in that part of the Adriatic.
This year members of Slow food Anglia will be present at the Festival to sign a joint protocol with Slow Food Marche together with Slow Food Ancona and Conero which will mark the beginning of much closer ties being formed between Anglia with the Italian groups.
Both the Slow Food groups in the UK and Italy have long coastlines and because of this they are very much involved with both fishing communities and the wider fishing industries in each part of their respective regions.
Slow Food Anglia is currently working with fishing communities on the North Norfolk coast, in particular with businesses in the coastal towns of Wells next the Sea and Cromer, they have also recently have started to also work with fishing businesses in Colchester in the county of Essex.
Slow Food Anglia insieme a Slow Food Norwich sono estremamente liete di essere state invitate a prendere parte ad un evento che si terrà nella regione Marche, in Italia questo Giugno, come parte della manifestazioni promosse da Slow Food Interantional in concomitanza con l'EXPO 2015 che si stà tenendo a Milano quest'anno.
La manifestazione Mosciolando si tiene ogni anno nella zona costiera di Portonovo, sulla costa est dell'Italia, ed è un festival che celebra il locale presidio Slow Food del mosciolo di Portonovo che si trova in questa parte dell'Adriatico.
Quest'anno membri di Slow Food Anglia saranno presenti alla manifestazione per firmare un comune protocoolo di intesa con Slow Food Marche e la condotta di Ancona e del Conero che segneranno l'inizio di una stretta collaborazione tra queste due regioni.
Enrambi i gruppi in Inghilterra ed Italia posseggono una lunga zona costiera e sono accomunate da un forte coinvolgimento nel settore ittico e della pesca, nonchè con le ripettive comunità e cooperative locali di pescatori.
Slow Food Anglia sta attualemtne lavorando con le comunità della zona del Nord Norfolk, in particolare con le città costiere di Well next the Sea e Cromer ed ha anche recentemente stretto una collaborazione con la citta di Colchester nell'Essex e con la sua comunità locale di pescatori.
The Italian Slow Food groups in Le Marche have a long history of being very involved with local communities and food and wine producers, with Slow Food Ancona and Conero concentrating more on the fishing communities and industry on their part of the Adriatic coastline.
At the Mosciolando in Portonovo there will be a talk given by Dermott and also Silvia from Slow Food Anglia to the assembled guests, with representatives from the Italian Slow Food groups speaking about their fishing communities with a particular emphasis on how we can work together to promote sustainable fishing practices in our respective regions.
As part of the closer links between the groups, it is being planned for group members from each of the two countries to take part in visits and workshops to their opposite numbers in the UK and Italy, with a group of Italian chefs now taking part in the Slow Food Seafood and Oyster Festival in Colchester to be held in early September.
Further ahead we also hope to involve Slow Food groups from Holland and possibly Malta who have both shown an keen interest in the new links between UK and Italian groups.
I gruppi Slow food nelle Marche hanno una lunga tradizione di collaborazione e coinvolgimento con le comunità locali di produttori ed in particolare la condotta di Ancona e del Conero si focalizza da sempre sulla costa e sulle risorse ittiche di questa zona dell'adriatico.
Dermott e Silvia da Slow Food Anglia, saranno a Mosciolando a Portonovo per tenere un intervento rivolvo al pubblico presente, ed anche a membri di Slow Food Italia, sulla realtà delle regioni costiere dell'Anglia con una particolare enfasi su come si possa colalborare insieme in futuro per promuovere e supportare queste realtà e la pesca sostenibile da loro praticata.
Come parte della più stretta colalborazione entrambe i gruppi organizzeranno visite e laboratori a cui i membri della rispettiva controparte prenderanno parte, in particolare Slow Food Anglia sta organizzando lo Slow Food Seafood and Oyster Festival a Colchester per il prossimo inizio di Settembre a cui è prevista la partecipazione di chef dal Conero.
In futuro speriamo anche di coinvolgere gruppi Slow Food in Olanda e possibilmente Malta che hanno uguamente mostrato un profondo interesse per questo tipo di collaborazione.
